Quest and destination
Albaneve highland outpost → small door near the elevation of “I’m Not Cut Out For This” → short same-level passage → seated remains by a small step → Collect Soul. Local terrain connects this door to the remains; the exterior mountain approach to the door is still unconfirmed.
Route notes
Segment order: secure upper ground beside the ladder top → side of the central gap → intact boardwalk → stop before the broken end. This boardwalk is above the remains’ floor; its end is not a confirmed descent. The model starts roughly half a metre from the ladder endpoint and full collision has not been tested in gameplay. If there is no secure landing at the top, do not jump blindly to follow this segment. The western concealed-door approach remains a separate reference.
Rescue steps
Step 1
Use the pumpkin-farm area as an orientation point, then look for the higher outpost. A straight line is not a walking route: its entrance, ascent and safe landings are not yet confirmed. A grappling hook, glider, cold protection and healing are preparation suggestions, not established delivery requirements.
Step 2
Find the small door at the level of “I’m Not Cut Out For This”. If already on the building level containing the western hidden stone door, follow the passage past weapon racks, crates and barrels toward the remains’ small door. This connection has only small changes in floor height; the higher stone stairs are not needed for this segment. The hidden door has an Open interaction; follow its actual prompt.
Step 3
Use “Collect Soul” at the seated remains and check that Gunther Galeforth appears in the Summoning Staff. Summon him at your base and talk to him. Reading “I’m Not Cut Out For This” or “Wind Riders” is not a substitute for collecting his soul.
Step 4
From the eastern outdoor barrels and stacked crates, follow the building edge down around the corner to the lower small door and eight-metre ladder beside another barrel. This is not the remains’ doorway. If already standing securely on the upper ground beside the ladder top, skirt the central gap to the intact boardwalk entrance, follow the boardwalk and stop before its broken end; do not cross the central void directly. Static terrain supports this segment, but the ladder dismount and onward connection to the remains’ floor remain unconfirmed. It is not a complete rescue route.

After the rescue
Settling and locating the survivor
After rescue, select the survivor with the Summoning Staff and place them at your base. Return to the base where you placed them for later visits; the original vault or body location is not their permanent workshop.
What to do next
After rescuing and summoning Gunther and hearing his introduction, check the weapon topic. Follow its guide to the sarcophagus at the end of Hidden Tomb Entry; the scene assigns one Ancestral Star, while prior looting and refresh in the current save require separate checking. Then collect the first tapestry piece in the balefire tower’s secret room and the second in Small Watchtower’s upper bedroom. Bring one Lockpick for the bedroom’s locked door, then restore both pieces in the base showcase.
Route limits
Not yet confirmed
Missing links remain from the lower hillside to the eastern platform, from the ladder to a secure upper landing, and from the boardwalk or lower door to the remains’ floor. Only the static upper-ground detour to the boardwalk end is connected; it does not establish a safe ladder dismount or onward descent. The lower ground beneath the second tapestry tower also lacks a confirmed route to its door. Durable saving and reload restoration after collection completion remain unconfirmed.
