Combat strategy
Probe with a short attack in melee. The enemy can counter, so stop the string if the opener misses. Linger at the edge of its reach to draw out a poke. Evade it before stepping in.
Phantom Blade Zero · "Village Beauty" · Monsters
Puppets shaped like village women, their faces delicately carved. They began to appear in the village from time to time some two years ago. Back then, they were neither so broken nor so uncanny, and they did not leap upon the living to claw at them. Most adults gave these strange things a wide berth. Curious children, however, would gather around, sometimes laughing as they called out, "Village Beauty!" And sometimes, the Village Beauty would lift a hand and pat a child's head.
