Phantom Blade Zero · "Simple Brother" · Monsters

Puppets carved with simple, honest smiles can do nothing but smile forever. They smile when they fall on field ridges or stone roads, coating themselves in mud and cracking their wooden bodies. They smile when they lunge at the living, as though pulled by invisible strings.

Combat strategy

Probe with a short attack in melee. The enemy can counter, so stop the string if the opener misses. Stop your string when the enemy backsteps. Close the gap before attacking again. The enemy can sidestep. Turn to face it again before following up.
