Step 2
Traverse Through The Veilwater Basin Passage You've reached the passage leading to the nearby Veilwater Basin. Proceed through the passage and reach the other side to gain a glimpse of the new, glistening blue horizons beyond!
Step 3
Search For Clues To Find A Guiding Soul You successfully set foot in a new area — the Veilwater Basin. The Flame said that traversing these lands and fighting the brewing threat within will require aid. You feel called to investigate a nearby settlement for clues towards a pure soul that can steer you on the right path.
Step 4
Reach And Search Captain's Rest You've learned about an old sea captain. Perhaps this person could be ideal for guiding you through these unknown waters and the dangers that lie beneath. The captain often traveled to a nearby island. Reach the island and search for the remains of a pure soul there!
Step 5
Summon And Speak To The Captain You've found the soul of Melville Fontane, a retired captain turned innkeeper and fisher. Summon him to learn more about the Veilwater Basin!

If a recipe is missing
Check the recipe’s quest, previously collected ingredient and facility requirements, then gather the quantities needed now. For recipes requiring shelter, check the crafter’s shelter status. An assistant offers access to the same workshop, without bypassing unlock requirements.
After the rescue
Settling and locating the survivor
After rescue, select the survivor with the Summoning Staff and place them at your base. Return to the base where you placed them for later visits; the original vault or body location is not their permanent workshop.
