Where to find them
Quest and destination
Outer Lupa’s Lair camp → first boards between palisades and a wall torch → low opening in sneak stance [passage not yet confirmed] → descending passage → second boards → remains beside the note.
Route notes
Keep sneaking under the low ceiling and stand after clearing it; avoid replacing a controlled low stance with repeated rolls. If blocked, stop and check the boards and alignment rather than dropping blindly from above. Watch for nearby hounds and melee/crossbow scavengers.
Rescue steps
Step 1
Head to Lupa’s Lair. If you already have the tanning-station quest, use its stage directing you to this camp. The station is neither a rescue payment nor a confirmed prerequisite.
Step 2
Find the boards between palisades and a wall torch along the outer camp and break them. Align with the low opening behind them, use your configured sneak control and keep that low stance while moving through slowly. Movement settings and terrain support this step, but it has not been tested in gameplay. Follow the descending passage to the second boards, clear them and approach the seated remains beside the note. The locked tanning-station platform is not the first destination.
Step 3
Approach the seated remains and use “Collect Soul”. Check for Robert Gibson in the Summoning Staff, then place him at your base and speak with him. Reading the note or taking the station does not replace collecting his soul.

A base resident. No independent crafting recipes have been confirmed for this villager; do not assume rescuing them unlocks a particular crafter’s services.
After the rescue
Settling and locating the survivor
After rescue, select the survivor with the Summoning Staff and place them at your base. Return to the base where you placed them for later visits; the original vault or body location is not their permanent workshop.
What to do next
“Robert Gibson Needs Help” searches for his fiancée Kaori Conway: follow the note from the East Lapis weaver’s hut to her office. This is not Robert’s own rescue quest.
