Rescue steps
Step 1
Travel Through The Shroud The world is lost, but not barren. Survivors of the Shroud wait to be roused by your inner fire. Find the sleeping survivor marked on your map. You will have to venture through the Shroud!
Step 2
Awaken The Survivor You've reached the location of the survivor! Find and awaken them.
Step 3
Summon The Survivor You retrieved a survivor. Place them in your home with a Summoning Staff.

If a recipe is missing
Check the recipe’s quest, previously collected ingredient and facility requirements, then gather the quantities needed now. For recipes requiring shelter, check the crafter’s shelter status. An assistant offers access to the same workshop, without bypassing unlock requirements.
After the rescue
Settling and locating the survivor
After rescue, select the survivor with the Summoning Staff and place them at your base. Return to the base where you placed them for later visits; the original vault or body location is not their permanent workshop.
Beds and shelter
Place a sheltered, accessible bed. It is assigned to a nearby survivor without a bed; aim the Summoning Staff at it to reassign it. Then check “The Blacksmith Needs A Shop”.
